DETALLES COMPLETOS

AƱejamiento: 18 months in french barriques of second use

The Flor de Pingus (3000 cases) will ultimately spend 14 months in a mix of new and used French oak. It is opaque purple in color with a primary perfume of pain grille, mineral, spice box, incense, and blackberry. Locked and loaded with remarkable concentration and depth, this lengthy mouth-coating offering manages to incorporate some elegance into its powerful physique. It will drink well for 30-40 years.

ā€“ 95-98 points, Jay Miller (Robert Parker, Wine Advocate)

About Pingus:

Pingus is probably the other most important winery in Spain along with Vega Sicilia but on the modern side. Dominio de Pingus is responsible for a lot of changes in Ribera del Duero. It all began when Danish Peter Sisseck went to Ribera del Duero to establish his own winery. He bought 5 hectares to start the garage revolution in Spain. His first vintage was the 1995 which Robert Parker said "it is one of the greatest and most exciting young red wines I have ever tasted" and gave it 98 points. Pingus 1995 was trading at $200 USD before it was even released. Pingus is one of the pioneers of Biodynamic viticulture in Spain and his wines have incredible finesse and elegance. They are like silk in the palate. There are some who say that Peter Sisseck manages with his wines to give a punch in the mouth with a silk glove. Pingus 2004 obtained 100 points with Robert Parker and is today the most expensive wine of Spain. Dominio de Pingus produces 3 wines: Pingus, Flor de Pingus (which is a fantastic value in the wine world) and the PSI.
