Calificaciones Profesionales: Robert Parker - 92 points
- Apariencia: Color rojo intenso, brillante y limpio.
- Nariz: Aromas a frutas rojas maduras, notas de especias y toques de vainilla.
- Pálido: Sabores dominantes de ciruela, textura sedosa, con un final largo y persistente.
Añejamiento: 80% aged 12 months in new french oak
The Malbec Ultra saw 80% of the wine aged in French oak for 12 months. A saturated purple color, it offers up a perfume of cigar box, violets, mineral, and black cherry. It has a ripe core of spicy fruit, excellent concentration, succulent flavors, and a lengthy finish. It will evolve for another 1-2 years and drink well through 2017.
– 89 points, Jay Miller (Robert Parker, Wine Advocate)
About the Estate:
Montes Alpha from Chile is the owner of Kaiken Wines in Argentina. Just as Kaikenes (wild geese, indigenous to Patagonia) fly over Patagonia, criss-crossing the land between Chile and Argentina, so have Montes Wines crossed over the Andes and into Argentina, with the firm purpose of producing fine wines, resulting from a perfect combination of the exceptional conditions given in the Mendoza area, plus the work of talented professionals, both Chilean and Argentine. Wines that would reflect the best of each side of the Andes.
