Paladar: Sabores dominantes de moras y ciruelas, textura sedosa, final largo y persistente.
Maridaje Recomendado: Ideal con carnes rojas a la parrilla y quesos curados. Perfecto para cenas elegantes y celebraciones especiales.
Añejamiento: 12 months in french oak
The Almirez was cropped between September 25 and 26. It has a clean, lifted bouquet of dark cherry fruit, pomegranate and cold stone that is well-defined. The palate is sweeter on entry than the 2010, a little sappier and generous, with kirsch-tinged fruit towards the ebullient, sorbet-fresh finish, which demonstrates impressive weight and persistence. Drink this now and cellar the 2010 for more long-term drinking pleasure. Drink now-2018.
– 91 points Neal Martin (Robert Parker, Wine Advocate)
Notes of cocoa, coffee and licorice frame ripe fruit flavors of black cherry jam and mulled plum in this rich red. Firm tannins and sparky acidity keep this lively. Very oaky, but still lithe. Drink now through 2016.
– 90 points (Wine Spectator)
About Teso La Monja:
Teso La Monja is a project of the renowned Eguren Family who have many generations producing wine in Rioja under the wineries of Sierra Cantabria, San Vicente and the latest Viñ±edos de Páganos. They founded in Toro the Numanthia winery which obtained the highest rating (a 100 point wine) with Robert Parker. Then they sold the winery to Louis Vouiton, Moet, Hennessy Group (LVMH). Having achieved a lot of knowledge in the area, the Eguren family decided to find a second winery in Toro putting in all what they learned at Numanthia making now more elegant wines than powerful. Their key is making voluptuous wines with impressive balance. Toro is a region that produces powerful and rustic wines but the ones of Teso la Monja have an undeniable elegance and smoothness.
